Surrounded by the darkness of night,
cast your view on the Milky Way or the brilliance of the full moon and
allow yourself to reflect that it was not that many generations ago that
the mysteries of the heavens provided not just beauty but also fueled a
quest for knowledge...
We now often take the benefits of that
knowledge for granted and instead of being inspired by the greatness of
the night sky, we more often than not allow ourselves to be content to
live unlike any society before us and unfortunately while knowledge
surrounds us, we do little mind exploration on our own but instead feed on
an overload of multimedia entertainment that in most every case is only
there to manipulate us to either buy a product or behave in a certain
way... A new world drug enters our veins from our eyes and ears as we are
constantly bombarded with messages that for the most part are
counterproductive to our souls and in the end, keep us from being all that
we could be, or perhaps, all that we are suppose to be...
Turn
off the noise and open your mind. Explore the wonders of the universe
finding joy once again in the simple questions how and why. May the luster of the Milky Way above or the
brilliance of the full moon illuminate your
soul...

| March Moon was captured while scouting for a location to shoot the full moon lunar eclipse that occured a few days after this shot was taken. The moon is shown here with a disk illumination at 97 percent at a range of 397,726 km. As I pondered the beauty of the moon my above thoughts resonated with my spirit in the silence of the night. Hope you don’t mind me sharing my thoughts with you… |
